Rare Suffrage Handbill Published the Month the Joint Resolution for the 19th Amendment was Passed, Urging Quick Ratification

"1919-Victory Map-1919"
Handbill on tan paper, printed in June 1919, with a map showing the states with partial suffrage, and those in black with none, published by the National Woman Suffrage Publishing Company, New York: a slight stain in the lower-right corner, and a very slight area of paper loss upper-left, but otherwise in remarkably good condition and a rare map (we have not been able to locate any other copies in libraries or public collections)
7 x 4 7/8 inches

Maps showing the unequal right to vote for women across the country had been a popular tool in the suffrage movement since at least 1915, and were included on many of the handbills and postcards published by the National Woman Suffrage Publishing Company. The House of Representatives passed the 19th Amendment on 21 May 1919, followed by the Senate on 4 June. The Amendment was finally ratified on 26 August 1920.
