Three color-printed folding maps, 1890-1898, together with two sections of the reports from the Secretary of the Interior for which the maps were printed, the first regarding "the condition of the Northern Cheyenne Indians at the Pine Ridge Agency, SD", 18 pages, stating how "these Indians and those at the Tongue River Agency, Mont. should be concentrated at one agency...[and stating that they] are dissatisfied and refuse to remain at the Pine Ridge Agency...[and are also] dissatisfied from abuse inflicted upon them by the Sioux, and desire to remove to the Tongue River Reservation and be reunited with their brethren there", the second, 1899, being "A Report Relating to the Proposed Removal of the Northern Cheyenne Indians", 146 pages, with extensive details about land claims from white settlers on reservation land (as well as three fold-out plans detailing certain land claims), all maps with horizontal and verical folds as issued (now flattened); in very good condition, some of the pages of the reports somewhat brittle
