1844 Norie Chart - Australian Pearl Beds

Engraved chart, 1844 (the original prepared 1833), published by J.W. Norie & Co, London, primarily covering the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans, with many pencil and ink annotations from various voyages mainly dating from the 1840s and 50s, also with the names of two captains written in ink on the reverse, interestingly, one of the routes is to Sharks's Bay in Western Australia, which was having a pearl rush or boom at this time, with printed text lower-left explaining "The Use of the Triangular Scale"
