Eight-page publication, 17 March 1898, with a map on the last page "The City of Washington and Environs, 1895" and seating diagrams of the House of Representatives and Senate on the second page, with short articles, announcements, vacancies and advertisements, also with details about hours when the President can be visited, on off-white paper; with a slight loss of paper on the first page at the left edge of the center-fold, also some light toning to the first page but otherwise in good, used condition

As stated on the first page; "The Government Official was first published in '90-91 and permanently reestablished April 29, 1897. It is the organ of Officials and Employees of the Government...It also prints the official map of the City, all points of interest, diagrams of both Houses of Congress...[and is] The only newspaper of the kind in the World..."
Despite being printed weekly for some years, this publication appears to be quite uncommon and we have not been able to locate other issues being offered for sale or in library collections.
